Turkish rental market boosted by visitors
Owners of an investment property in Turkey could benefit from a surge in demand for rental accommodation.
According to Dermot Halpin of Expedia, the weakness of the pound against the euro is prompting many British tourists to look outside the eurozone.
Speaking to Reuters, he revealed that Turkey in particular is becoming a hotspot for people from the UK, as it offers better value for money than many other Mediterranean countries.
Mr Halpin commented: "Demand is definitely shifting.
"Destinations outside the eurozone which are mid-haul rather than long-haul, such as Turkey, are on the up."
Meanwhile, Frances Tuke of the Association of British Travel Agents has said that British people are unwilling to let the credit crunch force them to give up their holidays.
She stated that even during previous recessions and economic problems, consumers have still chosen to spend money on a trip abroad.
