Turkish rental market boosted by Ukrainians

Owners of rental property in Turkey are seeing more demand from Ukrainian holidaymakers, a media report has suggested.
According to the Kyiv Post, Turkey is becoming more and more popular with leisure travellers from the eastern European country.
The newspaper spoke to several different tour operators who reported an increase in the number of Ukrainians booking holidays to destinations such as Antalya.
This was backed up by official figures showing that more than 590,000 people from Ukraine travelled to Turkey last year.
Ahmet Canga from the Turkish embassy told the publication that this was 22 per cent higher than the figure recorded in 2006 and 56 per cent up on 2005.
The figures suggest that demand for rental accommodation among this group is growing, potentially benefiting property investors as a result.
According to ShelterOffshore.com, much of the growth in Turkey's housing market is being driven by the country's popularity as a holiday destination, as many visitors are returning to buy second homes at a later date.
