Turkey 'to attract more Britons in 2008'

More British property investors could be set to purchase a house in Turkey this year, experts have predicted.
HomeMove stated that in recent years, the south-east European country had been highly successful in attracting foreign property buyers, with 17,000 coming from the UK alone.
However, it said Turkey's popularity was likely to keep growing as a result of changes to its property-buying procedures.
The website commented: "Mortgages are only just becoming widely available to prospective foreign purchasers."
HomeMove added that house prices in Turkey had risen by between 15 and 20 past during the last year.
In addition, it said this trend was likely to continue, with its overall growth likely to be comparable to that seen in the Spanish market 30 years ago.
Earlier this month, Foreign Property Buyer reported that demand for houses in Turkey was outstripping the level of supply and driving up values as a result.
