Turkey appeals to foreign nationals

Turkey's property market could be set to benefit from an influx of expatriates, a new survey has suggested.
Researchers at the Europe-Turkey Tourism Business Council asked 3,732 holidaymakers whether they would like to live in Turkey.
According to chairman Huseyin Baraner, most responded in the affirmative, as they find the country more attractive than their own homes.
This suggests that the country could continue to attract foreign property buyers, including lifestyle buyers and expatriates, during the next few years.
Speaking to TurkishPress.com, Mr Baraner said: "Tourists would like to live in Turkey, especially in Mediterranean region."
He added that resort towns including Alanya, Kemer and Marmaris were especially popular with foreign nationals.
Meanwhile, culture and tourism minister Ertugrul Gunay has revealed that annual visitor numbers rose from 13 million to more than 23 million between 2003 and 2007.
