Tourists purchasing property in Turkey

Turkey's tourist sector could be having a direct impact on its property market, an expert has suggested.
Rhiannon Williamson, director of ShelterOffshore.com, stated that the country was becoming a popular destination among holiday home buyers.
Most of these people were said to be returning holidaymakers who had previously enjoyed a trip to Turkey in the past.
Ms Williamson commented: "Many tourists who visit a new destination and really fall in love with it also have a strong desire to spend more time there."
She added that people who visit the country this year are highly likely to buy holiday homes next year, prompting her to suggest that estimates of 25 million visitors in 2008 "bode exceptionally well" for Turkey's property market in the near future.
According to the Turkish Daily News, the number of foreign arrivals in 2007 rose by 18 per cent on the previous year to 23 million.
