Medical tourists turn to Turkey
British investors considering great value properties in Turkey will be pleased to hear that rising numbers of medical tourists are expected.
Medical tourism has become a lucrative industry in recent years, with several European nations looking to use a combination of sun, sand and superb medical care to entice potential patients to the region.
Medical tourists choose to take advantage of cosmetic surgery and treatment costs significantly cheaper than their British equivalents, as well as the opportunity to recuperate in the sun.
In conversation with Turkish paper Altinkum Voices, Professor Oguz Cetinkale, president of the country's Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, said that Turkey offered more than just cheap medical care.
"It is not only that, but the fact that Turkey is a Mediterranean country also plays a role. It is also the attentiveness toward the patients that makes them happy. Of course, all surgeons are attentive toward their patients, but because we are a Mediterranean country, we tend to be friendlier."
With the economy sure to be stimulated by this boost to an already-thriving tourism sector, the prospects for investors in Turkish property look very promising.
