Airline to bolster Turkish presence

British Midland Airways (bmi) has announced that it plans to increase its presence in Turkey over the next few years.
Matthew Wyatt, regional marketing manager at the airline, was quoted by the Turkish Daily News as saying that he wanted to do more to establish the company in Ankara.
The comments come four months after bmi launched a direct flight to the city from Heathrow Airport in London.
However, Mr Wyatt said the airline was not likely to offer passage to any other parts of Turkey in the near future.
He commented: "Instead of new destinations, we plan to grow and strengthen our presence in Ankara."
Mr Wyatt added that the recent increase in the number of bookings and the revenue generated by the service was an "encouraging sign" for the airline.
According to a recent report in the Turkish Daily News, 23 million tourists from other countries visited Turkey last year.
