Spanish property still popular in Britain
Spain's popularity among foreign property buyers in the UK is as high as ever, a media outlet has revealed.
Spanish newspaper SUR exhibited at the Homebuyers and Property Investors exhibition in London earlier this month.
According to the publication, people's faces "lit up" upon seeing its stand as it is a familiar sight to holidaymakers and former residents.
Representatives of SUR said they heard many positive comments on Spain from British consumers, including some who said they want to live there on a permanent basis.
The newspaper suggested that attracting lifestyle buyers may now be the cornerstone of the Spanish property industry, as pure investors are mainly looking at cheaper emerging locations.
SUR remarked: "Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco may be more attractive to investors because of the price of property there, but as a place to live, Spain ranks top."
According to Holiday Rentals, Spain accounts for nearly one in three British-owned properties in Europe.
