Spain named as summer hotspot
Owners of an investment property in Spain could benefit from an influx of holidaymakers this summer.
According to research by Mondial Assistance, the European country is the most popular destination among British holidaymakers.
Figures showed that more than 30 per cent of leisure travellers from the UK plan to visit Spain during the summer.
The country was found to be similarly appealing among Swiss consumers, as it is the destination of choice for more than a third of tourists from Switzerland.
This means that demand for rental accommodation in popular Spanish tourist resorts is likely to be very high, thereby creating various investment opportunities.
Meanwhile, Abbey Savings has revealed that more than one in four British holidaymakers are planning to head to Europe over the summer.
The financial provider observed that the continent is remaining an attractive destination despite the strength of the euro against the pound.
