Spain has investment opportunities, says expert
Overseas property investors should not overlook potential opportunities in the Spanish market, an expert has advised.
Paul Collins from the BuyAssociation website stated that holidaymakers were not the only group of people who needed rental accommodation in Spain.
He said that if people did not focus their attention solely on popular tourist resorts, opportunities for buy-to-let investors could still be found in other parts of the country.
Mr Collins commented: "People are looking at things like university towns and are buying properties that they can rent out to university students."
However, he said that most foreign property buyers in Spain tended to be people who wanted a property for personal use, as many investors were seeking high returns in new and emerging markets.
The comments come shortly after Spain was identified as the top investment market in the world in a poll by A Place in the Sun magazine.
