Spain attracts more visitors

The international tourist market in Spain is continuing to grow, new figures have revealed.
According to the country's ministry of industry, commerce and tourism, Spain attracted 3.3 million foreign visitors last month, reports Thomson Financial.
This is five per cent higher than the figure recorded in November 2006, indicating a positive growth in Spain's tourist sector.
The trend was also highlighted by statistics for the first 11 months of 2007, as they showed that visitor numbers rose by 2.1 per cent on the previous year to 56 million.
As a result of the growing tourist trade in Spain, the country is likely to see increased demand for rental accommodation in popular tourist areas.
This could make it a potentially attractive market to overseas property investors, particularly those who want to enter the buy-to-let sector.
Spain was recently highlighted as a popular destination among people from the UK by the Association of British Travel Agents.
According to the organisation, many have chosen to travel to the country for the Christmas and new year period.
