More Indian tourists 'could go to Spain'

Overseas property investors in Spain could benefit from an increase in the number of Indian holidaymakers.
According to Enrique Ruiz de Lera, director of the Asian branch of the National Tourist Office, efforts to attract more visitors from the Indian sub-continent are underway.
He stated that a new office had just opened in Mumbai while moves to introduce more flights between the two countries had been set in motion.
"We hope to increase arrivals from India by ten per cent annually," Mr Ruiz de Lera commented.
He added that although the number of people coming from the country to Spain was going up, the rate of growth was still fairly slow.
If the efforts are successful in boosting the number of tourists in Spain, property owners will be likely to benefit from increased demand for rental accommodation.
This comes after official figures showed that the overall number of tourists arriving in Spain went up by 1.8 per cent this year.
