More Britons than ever are buying abroad
A record number of Britons are considering buying a property abroad, according to an expert.
Amanda Lamb, presenter of Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, stated that more people than ever before are looking at making a purchase overseas.
This was said to be partly because of lifestyle decisions such as choosing to live in rented accommodation in the UK.
However, she stated that practical considerations were motivating some people's purchases, as many cannot afford to buy a house in the UK.
Ms Lamb commented: "First-time buyers are finding it impossible to get on the housing ladder in the UK."
She added that about 250,000 Britons are buying abroad every year in order to settle outside the UK permanently.
Earlier this week, the Telegraph suggested that the number of British people who choose to become expatriates will keep getting higher.
The publication said that any suggestions that the current "exodus" will end soon are "wildly premature".
