Foreign investors 'still favour Spain'

Many foreign buyers are still looking to snap up an investment property in Spain, according to industry analysts.
Property Wire stated that while the European country has been negatively affected by the credit crunch, it is still popular with investors from overseas.
The website said Russians in particular are keen to invest in the Spanish market, while it is also attracting people from the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany.
Commenting on this development, Property Wire said the quality of incoming more investors is more important than the amount, as they could help the market recover.
This point of view was backed up Mark Stucklin of Spanish Property Insight.
He observed: "The downturn in the market has put an end to speculative herd buying but does not deter genuine buyers who do their research."
Property Wire added that "greedy and unscrupulous" companies in the Spanish property sector are increasingly going out of business.
This was described as "good news" for people who are considering buying a home in the country.
The comments come after Shelter Offshore said Spain is still very popular with retirees and expatriates.
