Expats managing money on the web

The internet is being widely used by British expatriates as a resource to manage their money, according to a new study.
Research by Alliance & Leicester found that 92 per cent of people living overseas used online banking in order to keep their finances in order.
The figures come after the Office for National Statistics revealed that a record number of Britons are now choosing to live abroad in countries such as Spain.
Data from the organisation showed that during 2006, more than 200,000 people left the UK to live abroad permanently.
This is the highest figure recorded since the current measuring system was introduced in 1992.
Simon Hull, managing director of Alliance & Leicester International, commented: "24-hour access to money is a necessity for most expats."
He added that it offered them benefits such as a speedy transfer of funds and an "up-to-date snapshot" of their bank account.
