Europe 'popular with American tourists'

Owners of property in European tourist resorts are currently seeing an increase in visitors from the US, new research has revealed.
Figures from Donald N. Martin & Co found that countries such as Spain and Italy were becoming more popular choices among American holidaymakers.
Data cited by TravelMole showed that Spain has seen the number of US tourists increase by almost a third over the last 12 months.
This puts it slightly ahead of Italy, which saw growth of 28.5 per cent during the same period.
The figures indicate continued growth in both countries' tourist markets, as well as their continuing appeal as holiday destinations.
As a result, rental accommodation in the most popular holiday resorts is likely to be in particularly strong demand.
This could account for their status as hotspots for overseas property buyers, as Spain was recently highlighted as a favourite location among UK investors by Datamonitor.
