Credit crunch 'not putting off property buyers'

An analyst has refuted suggestions that the global credit crunch is affecting demand for foreign property.
Darren Styles, chief executive of Brooklands Group, stated that many industry commentators believe that global economic problems have "chilled" the market to a standstill.
However, he insisted that this is not the case and that buying property abroad is still a popular aspiration.
Brooklands Group organised the recent A Place in the Sun Live event in Manchester, which attracted more than 8,000 people in three days.
Mr Styles cited this as proof of the high demand for both holiday homes and investment properties overseas.
He added that this "augurs well" for the next A Place in the Sun Live event in London next month.
This comes after the National Association of Estate Agents said global financial issues are unlikely to dampen demand for overseas property among British buyers.
