Budget airline announces new Spanish service

Low-cost airline easyJet has confirmed that it will begin flying between Manchester and Alicante later this year.
Direct services to the Spanish holiday resort will start running at the end of September and are expected to carry 60,000 people during its first year.
According to easyJet, services to Alicante from other British airports are currently very popular, particularly with families and people who want a short break abroad.
The airline said this has prompted it to open up the destination to people living in the north-west of England.
Tim McDermott, director of aviation at Manchester Airport, added that he is "delighted" with this development.
He commented: "There is a fantastic buzz around the arrival of easyJet at Manchester and we expect high passenger demand for this popular route."
This comes after Monarch Airlines revealed that it is to add a number of extra flights to its Spanish routes.
Alicante will again be one of the beneficiaries, as 11 flights to the area will depart from Gatwick every week.
