Brits and Germans 'dominate global travel market'

Britons and Germans are the most prolific foreign leisure travellers, according to industry experts.
The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) stated that people from the UK and Germany go abroad more often than people from other countries.
This was attributed to a number of factors, such as the strong provision of cheap flights to numerous foreign destinations.
Robin Broke, director of ALVA, commented: "We've got these very tempting low-cost airlines."
This, he said, means heading abroad instead of remaining in the UK is a very enticing option.
However, he added that the strength of the pound against the euro has made Europe more expensive, a development which could have "some sort of impact" on its popularity.
This could account for the increasing appeal of countries in South America and Africa among British travellers.
Halifax recently revealed that demand for short-breaks in long-haul destinations has increased by a third in the last year.
