Britons keen to invest abroad

A growing number of people are expressing interest in buying property abroad, according to a currency specialist.
Robin Haynes of Foreign Currency Direct said the number of people making enquiries about a foreign investment went up by 8.2 per cent last year.
Figures from the firm showed that Spain attracted the bulk of the interest, although less established markets such as Morocco, Cape Verde and Bulgaria were also found to be popular.
Mr Haynes commented: "We're experiencing a good level of interest at the moment."
He was speaking in response to comments from the National Association of Estate Agents, which said that demand for overseas property was set to stay strong this year.
The organisation attributed the high level of interest to the diversity of British buyers, as people from the UK were opting for both established and emerging markets.
According to Datamonitor, British and Irish citizens now own more than 3.8 million properties overseas.
