Slovenia conference will showcase real estate projects

Slovenia is to host an investment conference named ‘Unlocking Slovenia’s Potential’ in the country’s capital city, Ljubljana, which will bring together real estate consultants and service providers, real estate investment funds and international developers. The conference, confirmed for October 23rd - 24th 2007, is an opportunity for attendees to learn about the latest investment opportunities in Slovenia, and to network with the developers and managers of those projects. Attendees from outside the world of real estate will include foreign direct investment consultants, private investors and investment groups.

Organisers, ‘The Slovenia Times’ and JAPTI (Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments), state that the conference will be “dedicated exclusively to interested investors and counsellors who wish to get better informed about the investment opportunities Slovenia has to offer”. The focus of the conference will be projects from the sectors of tourism, logistics and commercial real estate, all of which have shown the need for direct foreign investment - Slovenian investors have already outlined their own projects for the next 15 years.

One of the key talks of the conference will be the from the head of the Slovenian Real Estate Institute, Anton Kožar, and will be regarding the country’s real estate market (“an overview and a comparison with other European markets”), as well as a presentation of current commercial real estate projects in the country. Other programme features will include an overview of the Slovenian tourism industry, with presentations of the top tourism-related investment projects; talks on the Slovenian business environment (“the expected impact of key government reforms on the investment climate”); and an address by Andrej Vizjak, Slovenia’s Minister of the Economy.

The last night of the conference will see an award ceremony where the winner of "FDI of the Year" will be announced. The gala is to be attended by “the highest representatives” of the Slovenian economy, politicians and diplomats.
