'Emerging' Slovakian property market worth a look
The growing Slovakian economy is attracting increasing numbers of British investors, according to market experts.
Adrian McDermott, of Escapes2, said that Slovakia offered great potential for capital returns, with Bratislava and the High Tatras mountains both still relatively untapped destinations.
Mr McDermott confirmed that British homebuyers were discovering the great opportunities of the Slovakian market and predicted increasing foreign investment:
"I think it's one that's going to really be attractive for property purchases over the next couple of years.
He added that though the prices of Slovak property would be likely to adhere to western European rates once the country adopted the euro, it remained a valuable prospect:
"There's not been a lot of foreign money chasing the properties, so properties are still very reasonably priced compared with most areas."
With low labour costs, a flat tax rate of 19 per cent, substantial corporate investment in its economy and diverse types of property available, Slovakian growth should continue to thrive.
