New flights to Romania launched

A budget airline has started offering British travellers direct passage to the Romanian capital Bucharest.
The services now being offered by Blue Air are likely to lead to increased levels of tourism in the eastern European country, as well as interest among overseas property investors.
Nick Barton, business development and planning director at London's Stansted Airport, commented: "We wish Blue Air every success with this affordable low-cost connection."
He added that the city was already a very popular destination with both business and leisure travellers, as proved by the number of advance bookings for the new service.
The new service, which was launched last Friday, comes after another budget airline announced the launch of a flight between Bucharest and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Wizz Air said that Romania was well-positioned to become the new "must-see" place in Europe, due to its "booming" capital, attractive countryside and good beaches.
