Low-cost airline launches Romanian service

A new flight between Britain and the Romanian capital Bucharest has been launched by a low-cost airline.
Wizz Air announced that the service would fly three times a week between the city and Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
This could potentially boost tourism in the eastern European country, as well as overseas property investment.
Commenting on the move, Liverpool John Lennon Airport said that Bucharest had a lot to offer to visitors, such as history, art, nightlife and music.
Natasa Kazmer, head of corporate communications and public affairs at Wizz Air, added that she was "delighted" the firm was offering the new service to travellers.
She said: "We are glad to expand our network from Liverpool to a new EU member state."
Ms Kazmer predicted that Romania would eventually become a highly popular tourist destination, as it offered attractions such as big cities, picturesque countryside and good beaches.
According to recent figures from the American Automobile Association, the number of American tourists visiting Romania in summer this year was 700 per cent higher than 12 months earlier.
