Leisure travellers 'should visit Romania'

The tourist potential of Romania has been highlighted by an Australian media outlet.
According to the Sunday Telegraph, capital city Bucharest has been undergoing a renaissance in the wake of its recent EU accession.
Romania joined the international organisation at the beginning of this year, thereby raising its profile significantly.
The newspaper stated that Australian visitors would be able to appreciate a range of attractions, such buildings of architectural interest and numerous concert halls and museums.
In addition, it said that rural areas close to the River Danube were also worth seeing, especially if people enjoyed activities such as bird watching.
The former communist state has also grown in popularity among holidaymakers from the UK.
Last month, Wizz Air announced that it would start to operate extra flights to Romania from Britain, a move which indicates continued demand for travel to the country.
