Budget airline boosts Romanian operations

Low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced that it will boost its presence in Romania next year.
According to the carrier, it will open its eighth operating base at Cluj Airport in May 2008.
Wizz Air will operate both domestic and international services at the portal, including flights to destinations such as Rome, Barcelona and London.
Jozsef Varadi, chief executive of Wizz Air, commented: "Cluj will become [our] second operating base in Romania."
He added the airline's services were growing in popularity, leading him to predict that more flights to a wider range of destinations would soon be launched.
This comes shortly after the airline announced that it would cease its operations at Tirgu Mures Airport and use Cluj as its main base for services in Transylvania.
Access to Romania was also boosted recently after Blue Air launched new flights from Stansted Airport to Bucharest.
