Tee off in the Algarve
British golfers looking to buy property abroad would be well advised to invest in the Algarve, following a recent awards ceremony.
The Portuguese resort was voted Best Golf Destination in the World by German golf magazine Rheingolf, scooping its second award for golf tourism in as many years.
It was named as the number one destination for golfing holidays by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators last year, as well as claiming the title in 2000.
Yet the Algarve offers a lot more than just superb golfing opportunities, even with its recent accolades.
With over 150 miles of glorious coastline and a rich history – explorers Vasco da Gama and Magellan both embarked from its western tip – a move to the Algarve means an idyllic climate, beautiful architecture and a vibrant culture.
Portugal was recently named as one of the top ten most profitable locations for property investment and the chance for successful investment was confirmed by Justyn Medd of European Villa Solutions, speaking to Channel 4:
"I'm confident we will be offering golf projects this year that will achieve strong ten per cent-plus capital appreciation and near double-figure returns."
