Portugal set to attract British visitors

Tourist accommodation in Portugal looks set to be in high demand this summer, new figures have suggested.
According to Holidays-Direct.co.uk, consumers in the UK are showing a strong interest in the Algarve in particular.
This area was found to have attracted more website searches and page views than any other destination.
Commenting on its appeal, the online travel agent described the Algarve as a "hotspot" for British sun-seekers.
Spokesperson Jon Pearce remarked: "The Algarve's lively nightlife, cafe culture and family orientated attractions make this the perfect destination for everyone."
He added that the region is a "relatively cheap" place to visit which offers a wide variety of leisure facilities.
The findings could prove to be of interest to buy-to-let investors who rely on tourism to generate rental returns.
According to Country Life magazine, 38,000 Britons now live in Portugal on a permanent basis, while a further 11,000 own holiday homes.
