Northern Portugal attracts British buyers

Many foreign property investors from the UK are choosing to avoid traditional hotspots in Portugal, according to a newspaper report.
The Times stated that more and more second home buyers are moving into less-established parts of the European country, such as Minho and Dourho.
One property owner, Liam Donnelly, told the publication why he chose to enter the market in Minho.
He commented: "It is beautiful, cheaper and less developed here.
"Most English people head to the Algarve, but you have to pay English prices."
Mr Donnelly, who owns a £67,000 farmhouse in Minho, added that he was also drawn to the region by its "lost-in-time charm".
According to a recent survey by NatWest, 100 per cent of expatriates from the UK feel much happier as a result of their move to Portugal.
In addition, more than nine out of ten said living in the country has had a positive impact on their health.
