More over-50s 'set to holiday abroad'

Foreign travel is likely to become a more popular activity among older people in the near future, new research has found.
A study by Alliance & Leicester found that almost 11 million people aged over 50 were planning to travel more regularly over the next five to ten years.
European countries were found to be highly popular places to visit among this demographic, although many said they were also willing to go to long-haul destinations such as Africa.
Commenting on the findings, Emma Walkley of Alliance & Leicester stated that the older generation had "a thirst for adventure."
She added: "This is not an age group that plans to sit back and enjoy a slower pace of life."
This comes after property author Sarah Wood told Homes Worldwide that Portugal would be a good country for older people who were planning to move abroad permanently.
