Expats happy to live in Portugal

British nationals who have relocated to Portugal have come out in praise of their new home.
A survey by NatWest found that 100 per cent of expatriates from the UK feel much happier as a result of their move to Portugal.
Furthermore, more than nine of ten said living in the country has had a positive impact on their health.
David Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking, observed: "Expats who have moved abroad appear to be healthier and happier and all these factors have contributed to a better quality of life."
The poll also showed that 81 per cent of Britons who now live overseas have a greater sense of well-being, due to improvements in their lifestyle and cost of living.
More than half of those who live in Portugal said their general expenses have come down, while many are earning a higher annual salary.
This comes after figures published in Country Life magazine showed that 38,000 Britons now reside in Portugal full-time.
