Polish property market 'booming'

The Polish property market offers great potential to investors thanks to a burgeoning economy and strong local demand, a housing market observer has claimed.
Steady investment in the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the country's membership of the EU entails that Poland is the "least volatile" of Europe's emerging real estate markets, according to Adrian Ciocoi, head of central European research at the Riedel Researcher Group.
"The real estate sector is booming [in Poland]," he said.
And the expert's claims are supported by the latest house price index compiled by international estate agency Knight Frank.
In its global property price assessment, the company found that only the Latvian capital Riga outperformed Poland in terms of house price rises during 2006.
Prices in the central European country accelerated by 33 per cent last year, ahead of Denmark - where house values rose by 22 per cent - and Norway, which experienced growth of 16.4 per cent.
