Eastern Europe 'popular with US holidaymakers'

Eastern European countries are becoming increasingly popular with tourists from the US, according to one organisation.
The American Automobile Association (AAA) said that a growing number of people from the US were choosing to visit countries such as Croatia and Poland for their holidays.
Bookings for the two countries rose by 69 per cent and ten per cent respectively, although these were outpaced by Romania, which saw a seven-fold increase.
Mike Pina, spokesperson for the AAA, told Agence France Presse that this was largely due to the strength of the dollar against the euro, as Americans were going to destinations that would allow their money to go further.
He commented: "Reservations for eastern Europe have soared this year because Americans want more for their money."
This could potentially boost the market for overseas property investors, which was recently described as highly lucrative by World Investment Services.
