Cheap flights boost Polish market

UK homebuyers looking for profitable investments in foreign property will be pleased to learn that the lucrative Polish market has been opened further.
Low-cost airline Wizz Air has recently announced the expansion of its fleet, allowing more daily flights to Katowice, Warsaw and Gdansk.
Property investors will have been delighted to hear that the upcoming delivery of 32 aircraft is part of a long-term development plan with the carrier intending to further increase its flights to Poland, as well as other eastern European destinations.
Jozsef Varadi, chief executive officer for the airline, said: "Today Wizz Air is the largest low-cost carrier in each of our established markets, such as Poland, Hungary and Bulgaria and we are under way to take the number one position in Romania shortly.
"I believe that our market leadership, our low costs, our high-quality operating model and our management capabilities are greatly underpinning Wizz Air's continuing expansion plan in the future."
Amberlamb reports that property prices rose by an average of 58 per cent 2006 - with Wizz Air's expansion sure to bring increased tourism to the country, Polish property could prove very profitable.
