Morocco attracts foreign property buyers

Overseas property buyers are increasingly snapping up homes in Morocco, according to industry analysts.
Currencies Direct stated that the north African nation has become very popular with lifestyle buyers in particular, such as expatriates who wish to live abroad permanently.
Mark O'Sullivan, director of dealing at the organisation, said many of these are older people who have chosen to retire to the sun.
He told the Telegraph: "Morocco benefits from coasts on the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, giving the growing number of retirees that we have witnessed purchas¬ing property there a choice of dramatic beach locations."
However, Mr O'Sullivan said people from the UK may find that some aspects of Morocco, such as its medical facilities, do not meet European standards.
As a result, he has suggested that retirees who are moving abroad make sure they are covered by private health insurance.
Earlier this week, Homes Overseas revealed that arround £7.5 billion is being spent on new homes and infrastructural improvements in Morocco.
The investment is being carried out in response to its growing popularity with foreign nationals.
