Morocco attracts British retirees

Morocco is becoming an increasingly popular retirement destination among people in the UK, according to a media report.
The New Zealand Herald stated that the north African nation was attracting thousands of older people from several different European countries, including Britain.
Many were said to be purchasing property in Morocco not for use as a holiday home or as an investment but as a permanent residence.
The publication cited the affordability of property as one of the country's most attractive features, along with the sunshine and various tax breaks.
Speaking to the newspaper, estate agent Anne Locquet commented: "Once everyone spoke about the Cote d'Azur, then the Costa del Sol, now it is Morocco."
The New Zealand Herald added that the country was popular with expats because there were cheap flights available to Europe, which allows them to stay in close contact with people at home without stretching their finances too far.
This comes after a poll of British expats by NatWest showed that the majority did not regret leaving the UK, with many saying they felt healthier, happier and better off.
