Tourists to book summer holidays in January

Owners of rental properties in popular holiday destinations could see a rush of activity next month, according to experts.
Online travel agency Lastminute.com stated that people were increasingly choosing to arrange their summer holidays very early in the year.
The firm said that interest in booking trips abroad would begin in January, adding that consumers were reserving flights and accommodation much earlier than they used to.
Italy was highlighted as a very popular tourist spot, along with Egypt, although a spokesperson for Lastminute.com stated that many were choosing to fly to long-haul destinations.
She commented: "People are looking at going further away than ever before."
This comes after the Association of British Travel Agents revealed that many people were not only booking holidays in winter, but taking them as well.
Spokesperson Sean Tipton told the Western Mail that millions of Britons were set to go abroad in order to escape the cold weather in the UK.
