Sicily "reaping the rewards"

Investment property in Italy is experiencing superb growth, especially in Sicily, according to one industry analyst.
Eddy Crompton of RealPoint Property told Homesworldwide.co.uk that the scenic island was beginning to attract the interest of overseas investors.
"The Italian property market is riding high," he explained, "and it is the new areas that are reaping the rewards.
"Sicily is one region that has perhaps been overlooked in recent years, but now it is coming to the fore and interest in this island, that is host to medieval villages, boasting a wealth of heritage and culture is starting to increase."
Housing remains relatively cheap on the picturesque isle, with a two-bedroom apartment available for around £85,000.
Mr Crompton confirmed that Sicilian property was ideally suited to an "investor who wants to get into a growing market with excellent potential for capital growth and a strong rental market".
The growing appeal of Italian property is illustrated by recent reports which estimate that by the end of this year, real estate assets will have increased by 28.5 billion.
