Modern infrastructure 'important for investors'

Italy's advanced infrastructure is one of the main attractions of the country to foreign investors, according to an expert.

Linda Travella, broadcaster and founder of Casa Travella, said that established markets such as Italy "inevitably" had modern amenities and facilities, thereby making them desirable areas for many property buyers.

She added that along with the modern infrastructure, Italy offered many other modern leisure attractions, such as quality restaurants, bars and boutiques.

Ms Travella commented: "They are seeking the good things in life and Italy has that in abundance."

The accessibility of Italy was also cited as a major factor behind its popularity with foreign buyers, along with the likelihood of having a secure investment in a stable market.

Earlier this month, a poll of British consumers by Saga Holidays found that Italy was their first choice holiday destination, with 14 per cent of respondents naming it as their preference.
