Italy "can only improve"

The market for investment property in Italy is set for a rosy future, according to one market commentator, thanks to improving accessibility.
Prospective investors from all over the UK can now reach the picturesque south quickly and cheaply, said Mark Slaviero, director of Homes in Italy.
"[From] the north of England and Scotland," he said, "it's been very difficult to get to parts of Italy you've always had to go with Ryanair from Stansted.
"What you're finding now is the regional airports are opening up a lot more so you'll find Liverpool, for example, are doing flights to La Marca, which is great.
"East Midlands [airport]
traditionally only flew to Venice and Rome for a number of years.
"This year alone," he continued, "they've added Romany, they've added Sardinia, Milan, Pisa - which is fantastic for Tuscany so you're seeing all these regional airports suddenly having all these new flights to Italy, so it can only improve things."
Mr Slaviero's comments followed the news that Milan is to play host to extensive developments in residential and commercial property.
