"Fall in love" with Italy

The great prices and wonderful lifestyle offered by investment property in Italy attracts committed buyers, according to one market expert.
According to Mark Slaviero, of Homes in Italy, the chance to live among a local community, rather than be surrounded by expats, is a major attraction for many British investors moving to Italy.
He argued that for many buyers, emigrating to Italy was a lifestyle choice, rather than a decision inspired by financial considerations.
"Its very rare that people don't fall in love with Italy once they've been there," he said. "The thing about Italy is there doesnt tend to be one large concentration of expats; there are pockets of them, but there isn't one large concentration.
"The country has a lot to offer. There isn't one particular coastline; it's all over."
He continued: "Italy can definitely offer a good investment because there are a number of regions that are still up and coming, especially in the south of Italy, so you'll find areas like Puglia and Calabria, which are very much still in the growth stage.
"Those sorts of areas can compete with the emerging markets as well. The prices are still very, very attractive."
Purchasing property in Italy is a smooth process, as a state-sponsored notario acts on the behalf of both buyer and seller.
