Calabria 'offers investment potential'

The investment potential of an Italian province has been highlighted by an Irish newspaper.
According to the Mayo Advertiser, investors from both the UK and Ireland have shown interest in the Calabria region because of its growing property market.
The publication stated that during the last 12 months, property values in the province had risen by more than one-third.
Further growth in the region could result in overseas property buyers receiving high returns on their investment.
The Mayo Advertiser commented: "The great news is that this current trend shows no sign of slowing down any time in the near future."
Meanwhile, the newspaper also praised local planning restrictions in the area, as rules limited the size of properties had been introduced in order to preserve Calabria's natural character.
The province was also said to be good for people who wanted to buy a residence by the coast, as property by the sea was reasonably priced.
This comes after a recent poll by Saga Holidays showed that holidaymakers from Britain rated Italy as their preferred location in Europe for a break.
