Britons seek new life abroad

The prospect of enjoying a better life overseas is prompting many Britons to leave the UK, according to a new study.
Research by NatWest found that 55 per cent of British expatriates left because they were unhappy with some aspects of their life at home.
However, both push and pull factors were found to have affected their decision to emigrate, as many were drawn to other places by attractions such as the lifestyle and climate.
A poll of expats by NatWest also showed that the majority did not regret leaving the UK, with many said they felt healthier, happier and better off.
Commenting on the figures, the firm's Dave Isley said: "It is interesting to note for those considering the move to wider shores that the grass can indeed be greener on the other side."
Last week, currency specialist HiFX revealed that many people are buying overseas properties as a precursor to emigration, as this allows them to sample life abroad before committing to a move.
