What is social bookmarking?

The NSP website now has links on most of its pages, giving users the ability to save the information they find here and, if they choose, to share the information through social bookmarking sites.

Social bookmarking is a system which allows web users to save their preferred online resources to a bookmarking site, and from there make these resources available to other people who may also find them useful.
