Dual-season developments in New Zealand

Dual-season developments in New Zealand

UK buyers considering a look at the overseas property market should consider destinations away from the normal second home spots of France and Spain.

Investment in property in New Zealand, for example, would provide cheap property, a low cost of living, dual-season activities and some of the most beautiful and diverse scenery in the world.

James Hinkman, of currency brokers Caxton FX told the Daily Telegraph of a Kiwi housing boom, commenting: "In Auckland and the area around it, prices have gone ballistic in the last few years."

Property prices have risen a reported 172 per cent since 1990, with much of the explosion credited to increased awareness of the country's stunning landscapes, following the release of the Lord of the Rings films.

Even if hiking Mount Doom or taking a jet-boat around Fangorn isn't your cup of tea, there's still an abundance of reasons to invest in New Zealand property.

With fantastic skiing - especially in the South Island - pristine beaches, astounding waterfalls and a lifestyle notably similar to British society, a 25-hour flight really shouldn't put you off picking up some great property in this wonderful country.
