Ski resorts attract property investors
Properties in Alpine resorts are proving to be very popular with foreign property buyers, it has been revealed.
Currency specialist HiFX stated that locations such as the French Alps are attracting more interest than sunnier locations such as Spain.
Commenting on the region, the organisation said that while it has fairly high property values, it also offers a strong rental market.
This means that investors can collect strong rental yields due to high demand among winter sports fans.
Mark Bodega, director of HiFX, commented: "The French Alps are still top for Brits seeking a place in the snow with France accounting for 26 per cent of all enquiries."
He added that the area is also popular because it is very close to the UK and is well-serviced by low-cost airlines.
The Times recently highlighted the country as a popular choice for retirees from the UK, due to its financial and lifestyle attractions.
