Retirees do like to be beside the seaside

Coastal properties are the most popular choices for retired investors, according to industry experts.
Anne French, a spokesperson for retirement apartment builder McCarthy and Stone, commented that 'downsizing' to a seaside home was a common choice for British retirees.
Her remarks followed a recent survey from Scottish Widows, which revealed that an unprecedented amount of over-65s are still paying off their mortgages.
"Coastal areas have traditionally always attracted large retired populations and continue to do so," she said.
According to Ms French, "It seems likely that the sea will always prove a strong attraction".
She added: "Many customers will have already retired to a bungalow and after a few years made the decision to downsize again for a low-maintenance lifestyle."
"Others might move directly into an apartment by on the coast."
Homes Worldwide recently reported increased interested in coastal investment property in France, since the election of Nicolas Sarkozy.
