Pastoral pleasure in France

British property investors are being increasingly drawn to the beauty of rural France, according to industry commentators.
Hopes of a resurgent French economy have surfaced since the election of Nicholas Sarkozy and the property market - which has remained strong, even during economic stagnation - should receive further stimulation.
James Robinson, chief marketing officer of MRI Overseas Property told Easier.com that France was certain to remain popular among British investors in overseas property, with its proximity to the UK proving appealing to commuters.
"More rural regions are increasingly attracting attention from overseas buyers and holidaymakers alike. Limousin in the heart of France, Les Landes in the South West and the Gard, nestling next to Provence, have all recently become more accessible with the increase in budget flights to smaller, regional airports and offer affordable properties and in up-and-coming areas."
He added that the emergence of eastern European markets did not offer a significant threat to attractiveness of France: "Our love affair with the Gallic way of life shows no sign of coming to an endā¦French property continues to offer the rural idyll, a high quality of living and a sound choice."
