More Britons 'choosing to invest abroad'

More British people are choosing to shun the domestic market and invest in a foreign property instead, according to experts.
Currency specialist HiFX that in recent years, the number of overseas property investors from the UK has gone up.
This was partially attributed to the high house prices in Britain, as they meant that many people could not afford to get on the domestic property ladder.
Mark Bodega, marketing director for HiFX, said: "Obviously with the property price issues in the UK, more and more investors are now looking overseas."
Although he stated that these people were mainly looking at emerging markets, established places such as France were still said to be popular.
However, he pointed out that this country mainly appealed to those who were more financially stable and had more money to spend.
HiFX recently reported a surge of interest in the French property market, which it said was due to the launch of a high-speed rail link between London and Paris.
