French skiing resorts attracting visitors

Overseas property investors in French skiing resorts could be in line to benefit from an increase in visitor numbers.
Research by the Ski Club found that there was a 3.4 per cent increase in the number of Britons travelling abroad to enjoy winter sports such as skiing.
France was said to be the most popular destination among overseas travellers, attracting 43 per cent of the overall total.
This could be of interest to investors in holiday accommodation in these areas, as they will be able to earn rental income from visiting tourists.
Caroline Stuart-Taylor, chief executive of the Ski Club, commented: "We are not surprised the market has risen again as many people are looking for more from their holiday."
She added that many winter sports fans were choosing to travel abroad more than once a year, sometimes for occasional weekend breaks.
According to the Association of British Travel Agents, France has displaced Austria as the most popular skiing destination in Europe.
